I’ve recently added a “How-To and DIY” section to the blog. I love building things for my family, and I thought it would be fun to throw together some DIY guides. I also signed up for the Amazon Affiliate Program, so that I can link to great products I find on Amazon. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.
The 1689 Layman blog and podcast started for two reasons. First, it helps me to focus my thoughts and my efforts on godly pursuits. Second, I desire to be of some small benefit to my local church and to those who may stumble upon these discourses of mine on the internet. I am simply a husband and father who is trying to be a biblical churchman. I have developed some affinity for writing and for podcasting, and so I have a desire to utilize those skills for the reasons mentioned above. For those sappy folks reading this, I have two little girls (and a German Shepherd and six chickens). And yes, the girls and the dog are best friends. My wife is my best friend whom I admire and respect. I cannot count the number of times I’ve wished to be as sensitive to my sin as she is to hers.
I will never solicit for money, and I have no intention creating “premium content.” I detest that sort of thing. I’m a bit reluctant to even include a section for donations (that’s why it’s tucked discretely into the About page) But, this isn’t free to run. So, I will say this. Please do not give any money to me if you are not faithfully and sacrificially tithing to your local church. Your conscience will bear witness in that regard.
